Camping Together for Decades, a Big Win in 2026!
At the end of this year’s CRE 50/50 at BVJ, the winning ticket number for Aug 2nd was drawn: $31,605, won by Angela of Chestermere, Alberta. She’s splitting it with the four family members who went in on the ticket with her: the way they’ve done everything at BVJ for decades.
“This is our group,” Angela told us (pictured), “Five of the six were in on the ticket buy.”
Two of the five have been attending since Year 2 of the Jamboree; the other three for more than 25 years. “Not sure when we all actually started,” Angela said.
What started small has grown the way good things do at BVJ: one campsite at a time. “Our camping group has grown from 2 campsites to 6 sites now,” Angela said.
Along the way, the group itself grew too. “Friendships have blossomed over the years,” she said. “Strangers have become good friends and camping buddies now every year.”
That’s the kind of community spirit we love to see!
