Friday, April 17, 2026
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Camrose, AB – Camrose Regional Exhibition & Agricultural Society (CRE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kerry Wright as its new Executive Director, effective May 11, 2026.

Following a comprehensive recruitment process managed by their CRE’s HR partners – Insight Human Resources, the CRE Board of Directors selected Wright for her strong leadership background, strategic mindset, and deep connection to agriculture and rural communities. With over 20 years of leadership experience, Wright brings a proven ability to guide organizations through transition while building sustainable community-focused outcomes.

“On behalf of the CRE Board of Directors, we are very pleased to welcome Kerry to CRE,” said Jake Vermeer, President. “CRE is at an important point in its evolution, and Kerry brings a thoughtful, disciplined approach along with a clear understanding of both the challenges and the opportunities ahead. We are confident Kerry will help champion and lead CRE forward in a way that is collaborative, sustainable, and aligned with our agricultural roots.”

Wright joins CRE at a pivotal time as the organization continues to build on its renewed strategic direction, built on strengthening its agricultural foundation, enhancing financial sustainability, and expanding its role as a regional hub for community, culture, and commerce. Raised in a small-town agricultural community, Wright brings a strong personal appreciation for agriculture and the role it plays in supporting local economies and communities. This perspective, combined with extensive leadership experience, positions her well to guide CRE into its next phase.

“I am truly honored to be joining the Camrose Regional Exhibition and Agricultural Society at such an important time,” said Wright. “Growing up in an agricultural community played a large part in shaping my ideals and the fundamental importance of hard work and community, resulting in a deep respect for agriculture and the communities that support it.

“Organizations like CRE play a vital role in bringing people together, supporting producers, and strengthening regional economies. What stands out to me is the solid foundation already in place – and the opportunities ahead to build on that in a way that is focused, sustainable, and impactful. I look forward to working alongside the dedicated Board, Staff, Volunteers and the broader community to support CRE’s continued evolution and long-term success.”

The Board would also like to recognize the leadership and vital contributions of outgoing Executive Director Dianne Kohler, whose dedication and commitment have helped guide CRE through a period of transition and renewal.

“Dianne has played an important role in helping position CRE for the future,” added Vermeer. “We thank her for her leadership and the contributions she has made to the organization and the community.”

As CRE continues to move forward, the organization remains committed to its strategic alignment in supporting the ‘Power of Ag,’ hosting impactful events, and fostering strong connections within the community and across the region.
